Director of Technical Services & Video Production

​Kelly McCommons joined the staff at Ed Robson Arena in September 2021 as the Director of Technical Services & Video Production.

 

In this role, he oversees television, gameday, and in-house production for Colorado College Hockey. Under his leadership, CC Hockey has earned annual nominations for the SVG College Sports Media Awards, winning in both 2023 and 2025. In addition, he serves as the lead technical contact for arena and athletics events with broadcasting and A/V needs, including CC Commencement, the “C4C” Cup, CC Athletics Hall of Fame, the 2025 Warrior Games, USA Weightlifting Nationals, the 2023 World Jump Rope Championships, and the USA Hockey 5 Nations Tournament, among others.

Before joining Colorado College, McCommons spent six years with Professional Bull Riders as Director of Live Events and Arena Video Director, producing large-scale shows in premier venues and directing national broadcasts, including the Calgary Stampede for CBS Sports. He has also contributed to the World Feed television crew for the 2022 and 2026 Winter Olympics. He remains active in the industry through select broadcast and live event collaborations with national and international partners.
 
A graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in Digital Cinema, McCommons began his career in collegiate athletics production and is proud to continue bringing that expertise back to college hockey.
