Director of Technical Services & Video Production

Kelly McCommons joined the staff at Ed Robson Arena in September 2021 as the Director of Technical Services & Video Production.

Kelly directs and coordinates all live production and entertainment for all events in Ed Robson Arena, to include graphic display, video playback, video replay, and switching.  He is also in charge of producing feature stories, in-game promotional content, unique social media content and game highlight footage across all platforms including digital or broadcast channels, video boards, website, and social media.

 

Additionally, Kelly oversees the operation of the audio systems, including multi-channel digital audio boards and assists in the A/V setup/operation/teardown procedures.  He serves as first point of contact for all technical issues within the arena, which includes all video equipment, internet, and computers.  Finally, he maintains, updates, and operates all video and audio equipment at Colorado College Athletics facilities; contact vendors to service equipment as needed.

He comes to Colorado College after five years as the arena video director for the Professional Bull Riders. At PBR, McCommons was responsible for all video screen content for event days, supported 30+ live arena events in both the USA and Canada each year, and oversaw production equipment and crew.  Prior to his role at PBR, he served in various cinematographer and production/studio crew roles in Marquette, Mich., and Los Angeles, Calif.
 
McCommons attended Northern Michigan University and graduated with a degree in Digital Cinema in 2016.
